Laviva is a Principal at Luge, where she helped launch the firm alongside the co-founders and GPs. Prior to Luge, Laviva was an investor and operator at Ferst Capital Partners, where she helped build and grow a handful of portfolio fintech businesses. She operated alongside founders taking their companies from ideation to market launch, navigating through regulatory uncertainty and driving early adoption.
She was selected as one of The Peak’s Emerging Leaders for 2024, featured on Innovate Finance’s Women in FinTech Powerlists in 2020 and 2017, and named among Canada’s Top 50 Women in Fintech in 2019 by the Digital Finance Institute. She is also a mentor at Front Row Ventures, a member of the Elle-Invest committee at Réseau Capital, and the author of the Status of the Canadian InsurTech Landscape and the Future of Insurance report.
Born and raised in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Laviva moved to Canada to complete her BCom with double majors in Economics and Finance from McGill University. She completed CFA Level 1.
