Laviva is a Principal at Luge Capital where she sources for new fintech investment opportunities, conducts due diligence, helps execute deals, supports portfolio companies and helps develop the firm’s investment thesis. Previously, she was an analyst at Ferst Capital Partners (FCP), a fintech focused investment firm and startup foundry. At FCP, she helped build fintech portfolio companies and supported their operations and fundraising activities and assessed new investment opportunities. Laviva is also involved with various organizations as an advisor including Founder Institute, Front Row Ventures, Holt Accelerator, InsurTechNY and InsurTech North. She was selected to be on the 2017 Global Women in FinTech Powerlist and on Canada’s 2019 Top 50 Women in Fintech by Digital Finance Institute.

Born and raised in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Laviva moved to Canada to complete her BCom degree with double majors in Economics and Finance from McGill University. She completed CFA Level 1.

As a kid, I learned swimming in a natural pond with snakes in Bangladesh.
